Apple pulls out of environmental certification program

Added on by Tom Cramond.

Apple has voluntarily removed themselves from the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) register along with all of their current products.

There is no way to see this as anything other than disappointing.

Perhaps the only point I can raise in their defense is the longevity of (some) Apple products - my MacBook for instance is from 2006 and still going strong. A slow product turnover is certainly better for the environment than moving through equipment every year or two.
