Halo 4: now with more TV

In the weeks leading up to the launch of Halo 4, Microsoft and 343 Industries will releasing a live action, 5 piece mini-series to be distributed across the net by Machinima. If you’re interested in the content of the work, check out the video above - the production values do seem really high.

I think the most interesting aspect of this is the cross media promotions strategy being employed here. Microsoft (and co.) have created an expansive Halo world that they are now leveraging across a variety of platforms and allowing fans a deeper and more involved buy in to the product. Just to repeat, an entire TV series is being produced solely to promote a video game launch - crazy stuff!
