Penny Arcade sell out!

The good folks at Penny Arcade are attempting to go ad free by raising money from KickStarter. Although they are initially asking for $250,000 (which has effectively been reached) for the whole site to go ad free the team are looking to raise over $1,000,000 from the campaign.

Even if you’re not into the comics, the evolving trend of audiences directly supporting creative projects (kickstarter, pozible etc) is great to see. These direct relationships build communities and allow for a much greater creative freedoms from the artists, away from the typical constraints of advertising and funding.
